The Emerald Light

One day, Sparx the Echidna was searching a cave of Mobious when she noticed a strange glow. She walked closer to the strange light, unaware of the pending danger. When she arrived, she found a chaos emerald! "Hmm...I'd better bring this to Knuckles, he could use it to keep the Island afloat." But, as soon as she touched it, the emerald exploded.
**KABOOM** "What was that?" asked Vector the Crocodile. "I have no idea, but whe better check it out!" replied Knuckles the Echidna. They raced over to the cave that Sparx was exploring and found Sparx unconcious on the cave floor. Then, they noticed the shattered chaos emerald. "Uh-oh" said Knuckles, "this could be real trouble." They were about to lift her up when they all got electrocuted. "Ow!" complained Espio. "Well, I guess that she was here when the Chaos Emerald exploded, and now she is infused with Chaos Emerald Radiation." said Knuckles. It took about an hour, but they managed to wake Sparx up. "What happened to...." Sparx was about to say something when she fired a lightning beam out of her hands. "What's happening to me?" she asked. No one knew, so she glided to Knothole to see Princess Sally.
Sally hooked Sparx up to Nicole to do a diagnose of her. "Well, when the Chaos Emerald exploded, you got radiated with Chaos energy. Now you have the power of lightning. You can control it at will." "Um, how do I control it?" asked Sparx. "Well, you just be very careful about what you do, but I wouldn't worry, you only did that because you were just infused with the radiation." Sparx said thank you and went back to the Floating Island.
Sparx went into her hut and uncovered a box. Inside were some old stuff that used to be her parents. She read her birth cerificate:
Name: Sparx

Species: Echidna

Parents: Lily and Owen Echidna

The rest was cut off. She picked up and old photo of them together. "If only they hadn't vanished..." Her parents were trapped in Echidnapolis. She picked up her fathers sword and examined it. It could be useful in the future. She replaced the contents of the box and put in under her bed.
The End
