SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color was a color handheld game console that competed with Nintendo's Gameboy Color. It had a maximum of 146 colors onscreen, 160x152 screen resolution, and could link up to the Sega Dreamcast. Unfortunately, SNK recently went bankrupt, so it is very hard to find these handhelds.
Sonic Pocket Adventure |
Sonic Pocket Adventure is basically a combination of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, with a better adaptation to a portable console than the Game Gear versions. Level designs are from Sonic 2, while music is from Sonic 3. The special stages in Sonic Pocket Adventure are taken straight from Sonic 2, so if you liked Sonic 2's special stages, the ones in Sonic Pocket Adventure should be a snap. While the music was taken from Sonic 3, it isn't as good as Sonic 3's, because the Neo Geo Pocket Color doesn't have an FM synthesizer chip. |
